Backstage Pass

  • Thrive

Hey Team! We had fun at the Chatterbox this weekend. Thanks to all who showed up!

  • PARTY WEEK!

Hey Team, Party this weekend! Don’t forget! Chatterbox Pub in Saint Paul from 12:00pm – 2pm.

  • Remember To Sign Up!

Don’t forget in 2 weeks we will be meeting at the Chatter Box Pub in Saint Paul for our Worship arts appreciation party. Trust me, you do not want to miss this one. There will be ribs, games and other great food!

  • Our Own Worship

Hey Team, Life is a highway. It can be a dangerous place. There are all sorts of cliffs, highways to danger zones, (that is two 80’s references in one paragraph!) and sometimes we need those grey, ugly guardrails to keep us from having a worse accident then we could have.

  • Two New Faces

Hey Peeps! We are excited to see what God is going to do in the next few weekends! We are wrapping up our “Life Apps” series, looking a head to Easter, and beginning to plan our services for our next series called, “Guardrails.” With addition to keeping busy with the up coming series, we have been keeping busy around the office as well.

  • Save The Date

Hey fellow worship artists! I will keep this brief. Save the date of February 19, 2012 for our mid-winter worship arts appreciation lunch.

  • A Daily Challenge

I just wanted to take sometime to let you all know how thankful I am for this worship team. You all are truly amazing, gifted people. Thanks for using your talents and gifts to help spread the gospel message.

  • Update & Devos

Hey All! Just a quick update for you today. I had a great time with my family over Christmas and New years and I hope you did as well.

  • ReMake

DEVOS WEEK: Jan 1, 2012 PASSAGE: Galatians 4:3-6 Well it’s the end of 2011, and the beginning of 2012. It’s been quite a year hasn’t it? I thought we should look back for a moment at the events that made 2011.

  • Christmas Is Here!

Hey All Christmas is here.  For those of you who are joining us for the ensemble in Woodbury, THANKS!  For those of you in Eagan giving up your time on Christmas eve to serve as well, THANKS!

  • What Child Is This?

KEEP IT UP, TEAM! Just a quick note for you all.  I am honored and so impressed with our volunteers at Crossroads.

  • Revelations

DEVOTIONS:  Dec 10 & 11, 2011 PASSAGE: Revelations Revelations has lots of bad stuff happen and then lots of good stuff happen. The good news is Satan and his evil forces are forever defeated. Revelation 21 describes what awaits those who put their faith/hope in Jesus Christ.

  • Nothing New

Nothing new this week. I am guessing you all got the email about Stephen. With that in mind the blog will probably just devotions until after Christmas.

Nothing super inspirational today, but wanted to give you a heads up on a few things

  • The Tension between Perception and Intention

    Posted by Stephen Kleinjung:

Why: It's a question of intent. Why? In the process of inquisition, journalists talk about something called 5 W's and an H (Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How), it is the only subjective question. When something happens, like a bank robbery for example, there is only one question that cannot be surely answered... Why? The only question left is one of intention.

  • Inside the Huddle

    Posted by Jon Oney:

Phil talked a couple of weeks ago about the church service being the huddle for the week. The huddle is suppose to outline the game plan. This is done so the game can be strategically executed and hopefully provide some “wins.” At Crossroads we do the same thing in our worship. You might not know this, but we have a game plan for our worship as well.

  • Where Inspiration Lives

    Posted by Stephen Kleinjung:

Hey team! This week I don't have much to say in terms of spiritual enlightenment (I know, I know ... you'll find a way to survive), but I do have a question for you. I need some advice people!

  • Spiritual Revolutions

    Posted by Jon Oney:

Most people have heard the term “spiritual revival.” When we think of “revivals,” some of us think of great evangelists such as Billy Graham or Oral Roberts. We think of the large tents in which these holy revivals happened. The seemingly uncommon brother to “spiritual revival” is the term “spiritual revolution.” The difference between the two is a revival is a mountaintop for an individual and a spiritual revolution is a change that happens in the community of the church. A revival eventually f...

  • Slow Bleed

Can I get real honest with all of you? I have a condition, called Ulcerative Colitis. Its a digestive and bowel abnormality that causes all sorts of unpleasantness in my innards. I'm supposed to be watching what I eat very closely, and adjusting my life to live with a new set of dietary rules. This is a new diagnosis for me (June 2011), and its been quite a struggle.

  • What Spiritual Worship Looks Like

    Posted by Jon Oney:

We find ourselves back on the weekend worshiping with hundreds of people, but sometimes I wonder if we truly get it: do we realize above the music is a higher level of praise, and outside of the words we sing, a connection with the Holy God of the universe? A spiritual connection happens when we sing. Sometimes, we don’t always see it, but we sure can feel it.

  • Worship Arts: A Response to a Movement

    Posted by Stephen Kleinjung:

Good morning team and happy Tuesday! To those of you who made it out to the picnic, it was a pleasure to serve you and spend time connecting and building a stronger team. To those of you who couldn't make it out, we understand, but you sure missed out! Don't worry though, there's going to more chances in the future. I can't begin to tell you the excitement we are feeling as a staff for where we are headed not only as the Lead Worshipers of Crossroads, but also as a church. Here's a qui...

What is "Backstage Pass?"

Wanna go backstage?

Backstage Pass is a place for you to see "behind the curtain" of weekends at Crossroads Church. Each week someone from our worship staff will post their thoughts, enlightenment, observations ... pretty much anything! We want our community to get a feel for who is serving them, and how we think.

In addition to the thoughts and updates from staff, we will also post the devotions that the band does together each week, list the songs for the upcoming weekend, and give a little rationale as to why we chose them. We like to be intentional about what we do; now, we want to be transparent about why we do it.

Feel free to browse, and we'd love to read your comments and thoughts. Jump in!
