3 Key Words About Us

We like to highlight 3 key words to sum up who we are.

AUTHENTICITY
Our motto says it all, “no perfect people allowed”. We don’t want anyone to pretend they don't struggle with sin or wrestle with doubt. What we’ve learned is that God loves to work in (and with) honest people.

So, regardless of your baggage from the past…your spiritual track record…your doubts and questions…you are welcome at Crossroads. Bring your pain, your story, your questions, and your doubt. You’ll fit right in.

RELEVANCE
What is relevance? It’s addressing your issues and problems and giving you real answers. It’s taking God’s timeless truths in the Bible and applying them in a world that is constantly changing.

We want everyone walking out of Crossroads on a weekend saying, “Wow, God spoke to me today." "I experienced God’s presence and power." And "I never knew the Bible was so practical and so helpful for every day life.”

We exist so that marriages can be restored, families can be healed, and lives can be changed.

PASSION
We’re on a mission from God to change the world by being a movement of Jesus-like people doing Jesus-like stuff.

We believe that all people matter to God. We believe to the core of our being that God is the hope of the world, and that the world is changed by love not legislation.

So we’re going to work tirelessly on this mission as long as one person is searching for God, one person is hungry or thirsty, one person is lonely, or one person is addicted.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the Holy Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments as the word of God, and the only perfect rule for faith and doctrine and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16)

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 3; John 4:24; Ephesians 4:5, 6)

We believe all have sinned and that our sin separates us from God and leads to eternal death. (Romans 3:23, 24; Romans 6:23)

We believe that Christ, through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave, offers forgiveness to all who, through faith, receive His gift of salvation and eternal life. (John 3:16; Romans 10:9; I Corinthians 15:1-4)

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16-17)

We believe baptism is the means by which God identifies those who are united with Him. (Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-5)

We believe that the church is a fellowship of believers, called out of the world to participate in worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and service. (I Peter 2:9; Acts 2:42-48)

We believe that all Christians are filled by the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion. (Romans 8:9; John 14:16, 17)

We believe that God gifts all Christians with spiritual tools which are to be used to build-up the body of Christ and exalt our Lord. (Romans 12:3-8; I Corinthians 12: Ephesians 4:1-16)

Our Denomination

The Evangelical Covenant Church
Crossroads Church is a member of the denominational family known as The Evangelical Covenant Church. Our founders, who were originally part of the Swedish Lutheran Church, banded together for mutual Christian support, to read God’s word daily, and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with their neighbors and the world.

The Covenant embraces Christians of all ethnic, cultural and denominational backgrounds. Obeying Christ’s mandate to “go to the ends of the earth” with the Good News, we have sent missionaries to 17 countries, including Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Japan, Laos, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Zaire.
