Keep Going

A few days ago I was with my two kids, Ellie (7) and Jack (5) at the playground enjoying this beautiful October weather.  Jack wanted to show me how he can cross the monkey bars.  The key he said, was to just "keep going." He rightly observed that if you stop swinging halfway across, you lose momentum and may not make it all the way.  The youth pastor in me then used this opportunity to tell both of my kids that in life, sometimes you have to just keep going.  Even when times are hard, when life gets rough, you just have to keep going.

Each week we see hundreds of students and many of them are struggling.  Daily they face temptations, peer pressure, and the desire to follow the crowd.  Our mission is to help them continue to follow Christ, and even when the road seems long, to just "keep going."

To help us with this task, we occasionally retreat for a weekend to focus in on God's plan for us.  High schoolers retreat this weekend October 14-16 at Big Sandy Camp.  Middle school students will retreat the following weekend October 21-23 to Camp Lebanon and there is still room to sign up! The cost is $100 and you can register here Middle School Retreat

Have a great week and just "keep going."
