It's beginning to look...

Hi Crossroads tribe. If you’re like me, you’re in “preparation mode” right now. After all, it’s December and CHRISTMAS IS COMING!! There’s so much to do—gifts to buy, cookies to bake, cards to send, ________ (you know the drill).

It’s a great time of the year. It’s also sometimes exhausting. Putting on my “Pastor’s Hat” I want to remind us all not to forget to prepare our hearts for Christmas. Make space in your heart/soul to receive the Christ of Christmas in a new and powerful way.

We have been working hard on Christmas at Crossroads. It will be an experience that will touch you and your guests deeply. Information about our theme this year is on the web site (crossroadschurch.cc/christmas). We have a total of 9 services at our 2 campuses.

As usual we are expecting 1,500 or so guests. That means we have a HUGE need for volunteers to serve in a variety of ways—greeting, ushering, café, children’s ministry, parking lot attendees, clean up, prayer team, etc. Click here to see our current needs for all services. Take a moment to fill it out. We need all hands on deck!!  Also, if you know which service your family will be attending, please let us know here.

Speaking of volunteers, all of you who volunteer at Crossroads are my heroes! Seriously, Crossroads grinds to a halt without you. Thanks for all you do AND don’t forget to wear your VOLUNTEER T-SHIRTS this weekend to church. If you haven’t picked yours up (if you responded to the offer), there will be a table set up at both campuses. Grab it and put it on when you arrive (hint: a long sleeved white or brown t-shirt would look great under it).

A few closing tidbits…

  • A limited number of water bottles and coffee mugs remain (proceeds provide clean water for our friends in Swaziland, Africa). This weekend we will most like sell-out. Move quickly!
  • Responding to those in need. If you know of a Crossroads family in need (hard economic times, unemployment, etc.) please submit their names to us via email (LisaAdams@crossroadschurch.cc) or on your Communication Card this weekend. We’re planning on providing Christmas aide (money for a few Christmas gifts and/or food). If you’d like to contribute to this fund, please mark your check “benevolence.”
  • It’s Week 10 of Route 66 this weekend. We’ve saved the best for last…James and I are team-teaching through the Book of Revelation!! Invite your friends…

Looking forward to this weekend (and Christmas!),

Pastor Phil
