During my family vacation my kids and I tried out a new activity called "geocaching." Essentially, items or "caches" are hidden throughout the world and each have specific coordinates (latitude and longitude). Your job is to use a GPS unit and find the caches. Many caches have little treasures inside them and you can take an item and leave another for future explorers (it's a great activity for kids by the way.) Once found, you can log your caches online and continue looking for more.
In many ways, Crossroads Youth Ministry is similar to geocaching. We spend our time, energy, and resources, searching for kids far from God. Each one of them is a treasure created in God's image. Each name is collected in God's eternal logbook. My hope and prayer is that every kid in our corner of the world who is far from God, someday walks through our doors, or attends one of our events, or meets one of our kids at school and can hear about the good news of Jesus and be found!
Our "soulcaching" resumes in Woodbury Tuesday Sept. 13 for high school students at one.eighty from 6:30-8:30pm. HangTime for middle school students begins Wednesday September 14, 6:30-8:30pm. Doors open at 6:00pm both evenings. And at our Eagan Campus, Fusion for all students 6th-12th grades, resumes Wednesday Sept. 14 from 6:30-8:15.
And if you're an adult or a parent and "soulcaching" sounds like your cup of tea, please consider helping us out this year and email me today! jakekerschner@crossroadschurch.cc
Have a great week!
